Jaleel 'Urkel' White of 'Family Matters' Has Impressive Career

The actor is well known for playing Steve Urkel, the slightly nerdy neighbor, wearing glasses and suspender pants from the famous sitcom. Thanks to the more than 200 episodes in which he participated in the series, he remains fresh in the memory of fans.

Jaleel White was born in Pasadena, California on November 27, 1976. He is a writer as well as an actor, and before getting the role that would make him famous in the series "Family Matters," he appeared in a variety of commercials, after being encouraged by a school teacher to give acting a try.

The actor, meanwhile, has been keeping busy with interesting projects. On his Instagram account, he published some images about his participation with the character of Steve Urkel in the Scooby-Doo movie. The actor wrote:

THE BEGINNING

From 1989 to 1997, Jaleel plays the neighbor of the Winslow family, turning his character into a cultural phenomenon and popularizing the phrase "Did I do that"? When finishing with the series it appeared as a guest in series like "Psych", "Grown Ups", and "The Game".

He has also starred in and produced his own web series, "Fake It Till You Make It," and his voice is Sonic the Hedgehog. He also participated in season 14 of "Dancing with the Stars."

REBOOT

With the reboot fever in most celebrity series right now, it's no wonder fans of "Family Matters" are expecting a reboot of it. However, it has not been officially confirmed by any of the actors or producers.

White will be a celebrity guest at the 2020 Fanboy Expo, according to a Facebook post from the Fanboy Expo. The event will take place from August 28-30, 2020 at the Knoxville Convention Center, due Covid-19.

The actor is starring in a new Netflix series, "The Big Show Show," along with Paul Wight, the WWE wrestler. Despite their wide size difference, both men share chemistry while acting. In the show, Paul Wight, performed as a former basketball player.

The actor and his mother Gail headed to New Mexico for "The Parent Trip," which brings together thrill-seeking celebrities and their parents on wish list adventures. His biggest motivation right now is his daughter, she realizes everything he does, and his father/daughter relationship is documented on his Instagram.
