Good news, One Tree Hill fans! Chad Michael Murray “has penned an adventure-thriller-romance novel,” his rep confirms to Us Weekly.
The actor’s new book, titled American Drifter, which he coauthored with Heather Graham, follows the story of an American soldier backpacking through Rio de Janeiro.
“American Drifter‘s romance was inspired by a dream I had,” Murray tells Us exclusively. “The dream had played out so vividly, as if I was a fly on the wall watching this tale go down. Also, at that time, I had been searching for a story that would resonate with the youth of the world in a way that would make us feel the light and excitement for adventure.”
He adds, “American Drifter became a combination of those two journeys merging together with Rio de Janeiro setting the stage for an adventure thriller romance.”
Unfortunately, fans will have to wait until November 7, 2017, to see what becomes of Murray’s fictional characters.
The year 2017 is definitely a big one for the One Tree Hill alum. As Us exclusively confirmed on November 7, Murray and his wife, Sarah Roemer, are expecting their second child. The couple, who married in a secret wedding in January 2015, are already the proud parents of a 17-month-old baby boy.
Though Roemer, 32, has not publicly spilled the beans on her pregnancy, the actress did show off a slight baby bump last month in an Instagram pic with NFL star Aaron Williams. She captioned the barely there bump snap, “Great seeing @ajwilliams23 after the big win! Let’s go Buffalo! @chadmurray15 #buffalove #billsmafia #billsrams2016.”

Murray, who will appear in the CMT series Million Dollar Quartet, opened up to Entertainment Tonight this past July about his gorgeous family. “Having a family just changes your perspective on everything. For me, it was the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me,” he gushed. “I think you’re always walking around with the mentality that you want to make sure that they’re proud and you want to represent them well and just be a great leader.”
