An American actress, author, and activist, Lisa Janti (July 5, 1933 – March 7, 2023) was also known during her cinematic career as Lisa Montell.

She acted in Hollywood movies in the 1950s and 1960s before deciding to change her career and devote herself to the Bahá’ Faith and other underprivileged groups.

She embraced the Bahá Faith in 1956. Janti claims that her family has a mixed religious background, with Orthodox Russian and Islam practiced by her paternal grandmother, Catholicism practiced by her father and paternal grandpa, Protestantism practiced by her mother, and Judaism practiced by her maternal grandmother.

Janti was Lutheran and baptized herself. She also had a varied background and, after learning about the religion, she experimented with a number of religions and ideas, including studying under Manly Palmer Hall.

In a workshop, she was introduced to the Bahá Faith by other performers. During her first encounter with Bahá’s, they answered certain issues she had from her earlier studies using the Progressive Revelation teaching.
