Every year, certain baby names get the top bid for being the most popular and according to the Social Security Administration’s 2011 tally released today, not much has changed.
While Sophia is the No. 1 nomenclature for girls, pushing Isabella, the top girl name for the past two years to second, Jacob remained in the top spot once again, cementing 13 years as the most popular name for boys. Mason (which was probably made famous by the token Kourtney Kardashian baby) came in second.
The top five names for girls were listed included Sophia, Isabella, Emma, Olivia and Ava, while the boys included Jacob, Mason, William, Jayden and Noah. Read the complete list here.
While Blue Ivy wasn’t seen anywhere on the list, celebrity names for their babes always seem to take it to another level. British lovebirds Victoria and David Beckham are known for dubbing their babies with unique governments, like Brooklyn, named after the New York borough he was conceived in, and Harper Seven, which supposedly derived from the To Kill A Mockingbird author Harper Lee and David’s old soccer squad number.
